| Hydras are more a pest and nuisances than anything else. They
post a danger to baby fishes and not to adult fishes. The tentacles
will sting and capture any creatures that is unlucky enough to come into
contact with. Its single mouth is in the centre of the creature and
its whole body is very much its stomach.
Hydras move in a somersaulting manner putting its tentacles down and then lifting its base (foot) upright and over to a new position. The pictures above illustrate how a hydra an be a threat in the presence of frys. The picture in the centre shows a fry being caught and the hydra is not much bigger than the fry itself. The picture on the right shows it being consumed and the hydra itself extends itself to consume it. The eye of the fry can be seen! Eradication
